Default Free to a good home...

...a Durst Laborator L1000 enlarger with Taucoli cold cathode head, covering formats up to 5x4.

I gave this enlarger a home to save it from being thrown in a skip a couple of years ago, but sadly no longer have room for it. If it doesn't find a home in the next couple of weeks, the skip beckons.

Any prospective owner will have to collect it from Cardiff.

PM me if interested.

If you don't find a home for it, could you save the neg carrier and masks - I have a fiend that would be most grateful for the accessories.

I wouldn't mind the cold cathode head if the whole thing doesn't find a home.

I've had one indication of possible interest, so will wait to see if that turns into something more concrete. If not, then I'll look at passing on components that are of use to others, although I will have to cover any postage costs.

Holy crap!

I was hoping to sell my L1000 with CLS450, i can't bear to scrap it even if it is surplus to requirements since it's big brother arrived!

We've had too many a good time in the dark for me to throw her out!

You'll probably be alright with the colour head. An ageing cold cathode head doesn't do much for saleability. I tried making lith prints with this enlarger and had to expose the paper for longer than it took to develop the prints - never a good thing with lith!.

In my case it came to me for nothing, so it feels right to pass it on in the same way.

Hello Paul,
I own one and as fortunate enough to get it with 3 heads. The standard condenser (but without all needed ones) the Taucoli and the CLS450 (but without the transformer). During the many years I managed to found bits of needed parts and, recently found that Aristo can provide with a tube for the Taucoli suitable for variable contrast papers. It is not cheap (if you add postage) but this will make the whole enlarger usable. Ask for a "Aristo DL1000-LO-V54 lamp" Louise Kessler at Louise.Kessler@voltarc.com
She is very friendly and will provide a quote in no time at all.
Hope this helps bringing it far from the grave...
