Perhaps not surprisingly, given the price, the FB Vario has now all gone. It seems it was a special clearance offer from Tetanal.
I got some to experiment with but it won't be a paper for any long term projects... just another footnote now. I'm not sure if the newer version is still available? |

'Twas ever thus. Might have to give Fotospeed a go now.

Tetenal Paper is made by Ilford/Harman. Fotospeed paper is made by Ilford/Harman. At the moment there are 4 companies only in the world coating B&W paper Ilford/Harman Foma Slavich Adox/Inoviscoat Regarless of branding, all papers originate from these sources, but mainly from Ilford. But, it's a very similar situation with Inkjet. There are only a certain number of companies actually coating Inkjet (decent inkjet that is), but there are an awful lot of brands out there!! |

What about China? And Fujifilm?

Hi Miha- I don't ever recall seeing Fuji black an white paper.
ps- The Tetenal paper is lovely. There are half a dozen prints taped to our front window drying right now. I prefer warmer tone, but if you like the neutral to cool look it's perfect. Not a 'cheapo' paper at all. |

Hi skellum, Fujifilm never exported their papers. They were available in Europe trough one store in Germany a couple of years ago as far as I know. The range shrunk lately to Fujibro RC (probably other papers are left, I don't know): http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/p...roducts_id=516 I don't know about FB papers today, but they had a FB paper called Rembrandt and also gaslight contact pritning papers: http://www.japanexposures.com/2008/0...aslight-paper/
This, of corse, doesn't tell us whether Fujifilm papers are still made, or whether they are coated in Japan, hence me asking here. I'm glad you like TT, it's just about the most expensive paper outside of the UK. |

Wow. Thanks Miha. Completely new to me- Fuji black and white paper. Of course, as you say, in this complicated world it doesn't mean that Fuji actually make it. It's still interesting to find out how much you don't know.
Cheers! |
