Default The Film Developers Cookbook Errata.

https://anchellworkshops.com/books/e...fdc_errata.pdf

Not sure where to put this.
Don't be rude.

I have just stumbled across this page whilst looking at recipes for developers.
May be of use if you have the book.

Cheers.

Very helpful -- thanks Nat. I will print that and tuck it into the book.

Yeah, thanks Nat.

I've read through it all and nothing that I intend doing (at the moment) is listed, but like Svend, I might as well print it out and put it in the book... just in case.

It's a great book and I'm continually looking at it, at the slightest mention anywhere of a new chemical that I don't recognise, or have forgotten its uses. I've also made up a quite few of the solutions now, so it has saved me quite a few bob already and probably has paid the book price long ago.

Great stuff!

Default Errata

I read it - and I didn't drift off until I reached the end.

The book is fascinating but it can lull you to sleep as well.

Best consumed in small bite sized chunks.

It will be the sort of thing I will be reaching for, hopefully for a good few years to come.

I always thought that I have the first edition. My book is from focal press / 1998. I looked at all the mistakes mentioned, and find printed correct. No notes necessry.

I love that book! It was my first step to understanding developers.

Interesting Uwe.
I do not have the book, but it would be nice if someone using the later edition could have a look and check a few of the errata are indeed accurate.
Thanks Uwe.

Cheers.

Mine is also dated 1998 (plastic ring-bound) and is correct. My "The Darkroom Cookbook" 2nd Edn, dated 2000 does however have the error in FX-37 noted in the errata.

As a result of this thread I have bought a copy - 4th Edition 2016.

I used to make up reagents and standard solutions in my days as a water microbiologist/chemist in the water industry but I probably won't be making up my own photographic brews 'cos I am too lazy but felt I should have a copy.

As Uwe Pilz indicated in his post, there is a lot of information other than ingredients and recipes which are of interest.
