No. The cost of posting a PPC folio is about £4.50 each month, whilst the FADU Print Exchange cost is less than a pound within the UK.
Each member of the PPC keeps the folio about 10 days, so allowing for transit time it will be seen by two members a month, that makes the "return" time about 5 months.

Sorry to read of your RPS experiences Graeme, I had to stop participating when I left the RPS.
Members of the PPC also encompass all abilities, just like FADU, so the standard of prints does vary, but then most of us, like myself, are still learning, so I welcome the opportunity of being able to study others work at first hand, and also having to think about them sufficiently so as to be able to try to make a meaningful comment about each one.

Thanks Dave that makes it clear. I am sure anyone can do the maths but in summary the postal charges are about £50 per year plus membership cost of £13. So say £63 in total as opposed to say £15 for the FADU print exchange allowing for the occasional overseas postage.

That is quite a difference but you could argue that you get a kind of broad critique and this has to be weighed up as well.

Not just a broad critique Mike but another great circle of friends too. I think the cost compares with club membership fees.

I can back up all Dave says re the PCC
I was a member for a year and enjoyed it thouroughly - I decided to pause my membership due to lack of time in the darkroom. Although there is no comittment to add a print, comment on others or write in the notebook to get the most out of the circle it's best to do so.

My aim is to return to the circle in due course if they will let me back in that is!
