Default back2blackandwhite

Hi I have just found FADU and wish to introduce myself. My name is Fez Parker based in Bath UK. I am a professional photographer and have been in the business for donkies years. I was formerly a Royal Navy Photographer, with a huge back story and some interesting dits!!! Retiring after 25 years in 1997. Having lived in the USA for 6 years and visited and shot all 50 States on film and then 4 years in Cyprus I returned to the UK. It was always my intention to set up my monochrome darkroom again but having realised that there is such a huge call for it i went a bit mental and set up www.back2blackandwhite.com, to teach new dogs old tricks. If anyone is in this area and wants to come and have a look around the set up and discuss the new wave in B&W interest i would happily give you a brew. I look forward to contributing to this site (once i get my stuff in one sock) im a bit hopeless with this tweety, facebooky, whats-its-facey stuff...... thanks for reading and "keep the dev at temp and dont shake the dust off". fez

Welcome aboard Fez...

I suspect the Navy is a good place to be if you are a photographer.

Good luck with the darkroom and hope the weather does not disappoint after 4 years in Cyprus (tho it has been great this summer I expect rain and storms over the winter to even things up).

Cheers, Bob.

Welcome Fez. You may be a bit young but those of my age probably can't resist making jokes about your effort at the Alamo and that great hat you wore.

Yes, for all you oldies here, I know that was Fess Parker but it immediately brought back memories of Davy Crockett in my great childhood years of the mid 1950s.

I hope you feel welcome, Fez. I have been to Bath three times for short breaks and it is a great place.

Mike

Good luck Fez.
I have a lot of respect for anyone willing to put their own time and cash on the line for something they believe in.
I have a friend who was an RAF photographer, and spent time shooting Russian spy-trawlers out the side of a Nimrod. Think he still misses those days.
Hopefully you'll be so busy with the new business you hardly have time for us (in the nicest possible way!)/ When you are at a loose end, swing by and maybe jump into the print exchanges.
Cheers!

Good one Mike, I remember Fess Parker as Davy Crockett when he came to Dublin with a stage show. I was only a kid but I do remember him displaying his shooting skills. I also recall Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger doing a show.
