Default Hélène Binet at the RA

If anyone's in Central London and doesn't baulk at dropping £17 to go and see an exhibition, there are some wonderful pictures by a brilliant architectural photographer, to see at the Royal Academy. Some of the work is hand-printed and some digital but it's all taken on film (Hassy and Arca Swiss 4"x5" I believe).

The photos of buildings by Le Corbusier and Pikionis' amazing pavement in Athens have real richness of texture and space to transport the viewer. I must disclose that architecture is my 'day' job and the texts quoted alongside the images are the old architecture school favourites of Juhani Pallasmaa and Gaston Bachelard, but I really think they are done justice!

Thanks for posting this, Michael. I will be in London mid-November, and will try to see the exhibition if time permits.
