Default Another timer

Stephen wanted to do printing in a frame with leaves etc, forget the name.

Now I have an idea of what timers are ????? I bought this.

I always check all wiring (used to work for Rumbelows installing electrical gear, remember them ?)

Glad I did

NO EARTH !!!!!!!

Are these two pics of the plug, one without the top and the other with?

So you need to replace this bottom part of a timer plug with presumably a plug that the top will still fit on that has modern square pins?

Have I got your intention correct?

Mike

So the two round pin plug fits into the female timer and then presumably the wire leading into the two pin plug goes into a three pin plug that fits into the normal 3 square hole socket attached to a ring main

I am no electrician and maybe this is why it still isn't clear to me what the problem is and which bits need replacing

Maybe someone else can help more?

Mike

on most timers you have the mains cord with a three pin plug on and there is a socket on the back of the timer that goes to the enlarger .is that what you meant

The timer in the photo has a typical German Schukostecker socket with side earth connections. It is common throughout Europe and is compatible with the French system.
You will need to fit a UK 13A plug to the cord coming from the timer and wire your enlarger to the timer using the plug in the photo.
Controlling an enlarger requires two inputs: a conventional on-off switch with which to compose and focus and another to start the exposure. I presume the white switch (top right in the photo) is a rocker switch.
