Default D & P recommendation ?

Hello Folks,

Can anyone recommend a top quality mail order hand processing and printing service, which isn’t prohibitively expensive ?

Regards,

Mark

Colour or Black & White?

The best Black and White D&P is probably the Ilford service - not the cheapest but great quality

No, I can't is the blunt answer. Hand printing must be expensive simply because good commercial printers that can spend time getting the best from your negatives are thin on the ground, and have to earn a living. Most will want to form a relationship with a photographer over a period of time so that they can each get to know the others requirement and working methods.
Fortunately, for those that cannot afford their fees, good quality automated and computer controlled printing is available from the likes of Ilford.
The middle way is to get a good amateur printer to do it for you, at a middle cost.

Hi Mark,

Have a look in Members sites on the Links page. Bob Robertson, who is probably too modest to reply, offers darkroom services on his web site. (http://www.bob-robertson.co.uk/) May be worth a look or a PM.

Having now seen quite a few of Bob's prints I can vouch for the quality of his work.
