Default Slide projector

I have a ZETT IKOLUX (a PRADOVIT P150 clone, or is it vice versa) slide projector with a Zeiss Ikon Talon 85mm lens (also the same as Leica Hector 85mm lens). Would upgrading to a Colorplan 90mm lens be worthwile?

Or is it wiser to buy something like PRADOVIT P300 / P600?

Any otheh suggestion appreciated.

Thanks,

Miha

I cannot answer, but an important factor would be the projected image size. I think that the larger the image the greater the apparent difference will be.

I agree! The projected image size is about 120 x 180cm, but since I've switched to Leica (from Nikon), the Hektor seems to be the weakest link; it just doesn't deliver.

Thanks

Can't say for certain, but I would think that, the same as an enlarger, the lens is the most important thing, so get the best you can,Richard

After doing some research, I found out the Pradovit P150 can not be upgraded with a better lens (a colorplan 90mm). This option is reserved for the P300/P600 series.

But before I buy a new projector I wonder If anyone is familiar with the Pradovit CA 2502? It's an older high-end model.

Got it today! This machine proves the great superiority of analogue photography - I have never watched my slides in such beauty.

Sounds like a good purchase, and that you are enjoying it.

Very much, Dave! Photography is all about light, for me. Light passing the lens to the film, light passing the film and lens to the wall or to the paper.
With digital it all stops at CCD/CMOS, and what comes from there is not same light anymore.

You are right. Unusually for Leica, the 80mm Hector was sold with the 150 to keep the price point down. I have a 90mm Colourplan P2 on my Pradovit 300 and the performance is outstanding. I should upgrade if you can
