Default Smashing a digital back with my F3 HP

Hi and Hello,

Thought I would pop in and say hello before reading up on the forum. Never thought to search for a forum and well hello whats all this.. Names I know and shops I shop at..

In brief.. Given a Practica TL1000 at 10, moved to an OM10 and some years later a Nikon F3. Sold it in my early 20s and moved to Video. Stayed with video production for FAR to long and forgot that my interest was photography till recently. Thought I would move away from CineAlta HD cameras and get a Canon 1D MK4 for video. Picked one up and took some photos.. Left shop after learning that it and a Canon 5D MK2 wouldnt do what I needed but it was too late. I had held a 35mm camera again. Ummm.. An old memory flew into my mind..

Right then.. Time to go to a camera shop: First thought, dear god! Medium format is within reach now.. Walked out with a Mamiya 645 and a digital back. Got home.. 2 hours later the digital back was on ebay. 120 film back on, roll of film and that was that. Went back to shop, got Nikon F3 HP and now nearly 20 years later I'm right back where I started... Using film. Met a girl ( now partner ) who shoots with a 1DS and I just dont like it. Ive heard the same conversations at Pinewood Studios and spent some time in Theatre 7. Latest RED ONE 2k images up on the screen and then a roll of 35mm film thrown up. Digital is no match in my book in both stills and that of the moving image. I guess whats odd now is that we have a generation of people that have never known a world without the internet, without digital. Dam shame. Bit of a long hello lol... My name is Marc by the way. Happy to be here.
