Hello from Plymouth in Devon
Hello folks. I love film photography, and I attended a darkroom course last year and then set up a makeshift darkroom in my hallway and bathroom. It's very 'Heath Robinson' but it works. I also process my B&W films.
I'm mainly a 35mm shooter and I have a MF Yashica Mat TLR which I aim to use a bit more this year. I've enjoyed reading posts on the forum and the articles too, so I've decided to join. I hope to contribute too. Last edited by JohnB; 6th February 2012 at 06:53 PM. |

It was a beginners course, NCFE Level 1 'Creative Craft Using Tradional Photography' course, at the Plymouth College of Art. I've got the certificate on my wall. It was part time, on a Wednesday evening, from October to March. We had to produce evidence of completing basic tasks like dodging, burning etc and produce one print from the subject 'anonymous people'. I used FB for my final 8"x6" print. I use RC at home. I really enjoyed the course, the facilities if a bit old were good and the tutor was excellent. We had about 10 students and a good mix of ages. I'm still on that learning curve. It took me quite a while to get used to the darkroom. I find the craft of printing quite hard, but I am determined to improve. I'd been having negatives scanned before that, but was never really happy with digital B&W printing. |
