Default Digital Truth AKA massive development chart

I have just been given a small quantity of Fomapan 100 all well in date and looking at the Massive development chart for times they only quote one time for Fomapan developed in FX39 with normal agitation and that is at a ISO 1600. There are other times for stand or semi stand development but I have never used them.

They may be correct as FX39 is a so called speed increasing developer - but by 5 fold increase - with quite short developing times? 160 ISO I could believe but not 1600!

I don't normally use FX39 however I have some left and I was going to finish it off before mixing my next batch of ID11

Fomapan 100 will never do 1600.
I use it at 50, in PMK 1+1+2 for 7 and a half minutes.
Can't believe there's any way short of Voodoo to get a 4 stop push.
Got a link to what you're reading?

That has to be a very large mistake, I have checked on a site I use, darkroom solutions, film development chart, and for Fomapan 100 in Adox fx 39 is 7 minutes with agition every minute, dilution 1/9 at 20.FX39 is not as far as I am aware a speed increasing developer, it is a high acutance developer originally made by Paterson and designed by Geoffrey Crawley and now made by Adox

Like Skellum I rate Fomapan 100 at 50.
I develop it in ID11, diluted 1+2, for 10 minutes for film exposed in sunshine.

If you go onto the digital truth site (digitaltruth.com) and feed in the developer/film combinations and search you will get the results Fomapan rated at 1600ISO.

I did a quick search and it would look as if the time @20 C is 7 minutes. Adox who now make FX39 and another site both quote this

Yes the MDC has 1600 as the speed which has to be rubbish

I have to agree - it must be a typo.

I've usually found TDT site to be accurate, but it's interesting that there is only the one speed quoted for Fomapan 100 @ ISO 1600, which makes me believe the incorrect film speed has been put in.

Comparing the times of other films to be developed in FX39 are much more similar to what has been suggested in this thread.

Does anyone know who inputs these figures? Is it the webmaster or open to others, like the Wiki site?

https://www.foma.cz/en/fomapan-100

The above link should take you to Fomas, FOMAPAN 100 CLASSIC data sheet.

Not sure if 100 Classic is the same as 100.

On page two, the graph in the top, right hand corner.
Microphen goes up to 160 asa.
I have to assume it is 160asa as the graph is so small and appears to have a logorthmic vertical scale.
So the max. for Fomapan Classic 100 is 160 asa.
I hope they are both the same film you are talking about.

Cheers.

EDIT Take care, the left hand graph is at 20 degrees C and the right hand graph 30 degrees C.

I had a quick look, must be a typo or a huge mistake, but 7min at 20 in fx39 seems to be correct, although I would tend to rate fomapan 100 @ 50, this is a guess as I have never used the 100, for me it is way to slow, I like to hand hold as far as possible, but i do downrate both the 400 (250) and 200 (150) as I find around 3/4 stop gives me just that bit more bite.

I have seen Fomapan 100 pushed to 400 in Rodinal @ 1+100 26 mins @ 20c That is the fastest I can find.
