Default Hello

Hello - Thanks for having me here.

I am from a little north of New York City. I have been interested in photography since age 14 when I started developing negatives in the guest bathroom of my parents house. My father and I soon built a proper darkroom in our garage which saw many years of happy use. That was some 30+ years ago. At some point, university, work and raising a young family took over. Now that my time has less demands, I have again taken up B+W. At the moment I have my negatives developed by a superb, one-man lab and use a rental darkroom when there is something I want to print. My wife has just given me the green-light to build a small darkroom in our basement and I am busy planning that.

I am quite an amateur but will try to contribute here when I can do so meaningfully.

-Mark

Welcome Mark. Enjoy planning and building your darkroom, and then of course using it. If you look in our gallery you will find a few pictures of darkrooms that may help.

Welcome from Down Under. You're lucky in Best wishes. having a local lab which knows something about b&w. It's a case of "do it yourself" in my part of the world, and things aren't improving.

Good to have you here Mark.

I must admit I have loved the darkroom planning stage, done it twice now and would still change things if I manage a third.
I can empathise with your time constraints, my two are 13 and 11 now and take up most of our spare time in ine way or another. Having said that I have just come in from the darkeroom where I have developed two rolls of Neopan from my Olympus 35rc. Hope to get out later in the day to contact and file.

All the best to you, and I look forward to seeing some NY street shots maybe?

Regards

ANdrew B
