I am very pleased to have found this forum.

Having lived in Norway for family reasons, my current home address now is actually in Kent, and I spend as much time in England as possible.

With the gift of a Kodak Instamatic 50 in the 1960s, I have remained a film user to this day. From Super 8 cine, through all manner of 35mm still cameras, TLR 6x6 and a Bronica S2A, most of my camera work since 1990 has been with Hasselblad 500C/M + EL and Leica M. Applications, with both systems, have include portrait, figure, landscape, architecture, copy work, documentation, forensic and surveillance.

Most used developers: Rodinal, Emofin, ID11 and studying PMK Pyro

Now only occasionally doing paid photographic work, my income is derived mostly from artwork - painting and printmaking. ( including copperplate photogravure, requiring photographic steps )

The interest in camera work is
intense and is matched by the satisfaction of reducing silver halides to black metallic silver in the creation of images.

The major frustration just now, is that there is no darkroom. (Oh dear ... ) The major excitement is that I will soon be in possession of my first large format - a Linhof ( Oh dear ... )

I trust I'll be in good company here.

Cheers, Kevin

I'm in the same situation. I hope that for you, as it is with me, it will be soon possible for you to have a darkroom.

Welcome Kevin. It's frustrating not to have a darkroom but in your position and with your interest and knowledge it must be doubly so.

If you mix with darkroom addicts like us then you'll just have to get a darkroom fix to feel part of us :

I am sure you'll manage it.

Mike

Welcome, Kevin.
I've got a darkroom, but being on crutches for another month, I can't use it. (Very "Oh dear")
Best wishes for Christmas and for 2010

What a nice start to the day!

Theo, Mike, Stan, Barry, Dave, Bill and Neil .. thanks and good morning to each of you.

My intro was already long enough, so have not mentioned certain other interests such as the building of a website devoted to 70mm. More about that in good time.

Stan's greeting all the way from New Zealand also prompts a mention, for what it's worth, that I learned to walk a ship in 1950, heading for Australia, where I lived until 1992. So if I let out the occasional "G'day" ... you'll know where it's coming from.

Cheers, Kevin
