Default Never mind Stefan from Fife: it's Bruce from Angus!

Hello everybody,

I'm chuffed that I stumbled across this group. I used to do a lot of film, switched to digital but am going back to the darkroom (though I'll still be using digital as well as film). Like Stefan, I've got myself a Leitz V35 and can't wait to use it. Also like Stefan, I like street photography although I don't get much time to practise it.

I'm 49 now and as I've grown older, I've realised that my kids will probably bin all my landscapes and hang on to family portraits so I want to do a lot more family documentary stuff, print it up, mat it and put it in a nice portfolio box.

Bruce

Thanks guys. Where do I post pics? It looks like I have to reach a certain standard of membership to be able to add a gallery or album but I'm not sure what.

It,s not to bad Bruce , I think you need to make at least five posts before you become a friend and are then able to create an album

Should manage that OK, Paul. It's getting me to shut up that's the problem.

Can I ask you another question while I'm at it? As well as doing prints from my 35mm negs, I've also got a very high quality film recorder. The idea is to make high res scans of medium format and 5x4 negs and composite files from around 10 Nikon D700 images. If I can get big enough files on the computer this way I can upload them to the film recorder and record them onto 10x8 black and white film for contact printing in the darkroom. I quite fancied writing an article about this method but I'm not sure if it would qualify because of the digital side of things. Any pointers you can give would be welcomed.

Not to sure on that one Bruce , Have a read of the FADU rules but this forum is more about film and darkroom really so can't see it being appropriate .

Paul, I've found a help section and have posted the question there. I should have looked around in the first place!

In case anyone was wondering, the ruling is that the film recorder route isn't allowed due to the digital input. See the "help" section for Bob's answer. If anyone is interested in how I get on with this approach, feel free to PM me.
