The varying cost of ONE roll of HP5 on ebay uk
Looking at something on ebay.co.uk, one of the listings included ONE roll of HP5, with postage included.
Interested to see how much a single roll costs vary, I made a search on the uk site: the cheapest I found currently is £4.99 : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ilford-HP...oAAOSwNOJbOzsK and the most expensive is £13.74 (!!!!) : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ilford-HA...cAAOSwDMNa7RKO Multiple rolls may / hopefully be cheaper... I haven't checked that out yet. So, has anyone have a recommendation for say x3 to x5 rolls. I'm only going to order small amounts as and when I feel that I actually need them, after some long time stored rolls showed the paper numbers on the film, making them useless to me at least. Many thanks all. Terry S |

I know where your coming from Terry. I recently order a five pack of FP4+ in 120 and the cheapest I found was KVJDeals at £22.60 incl del. Speedgraphic was also very reasonable. I have a few rolls stashed away that are out of date so I'll be working through them for now.

For one roll, Terry, this is probably an unbeatable price but of course it is click and collect and not delivery to your door. However the price does not appear to drop with larger quantities.
With Sharif Photographic the postage remains the same for 1 or 5 or even 10 and then as Sharif sells each roll cheaper by ones and in bulk, the total cost at 5 gets below what the e-bay seller will charge. However for one roll even Sharif cannot match your ebayer It is not a massive amount cheaper on one order of 5 but would mount up over the months and years as you bought each time. I know we are sponsored by various retailers and their continued sponsorship is no doubt important so check them out as well. For 10 films and if my maths are correct AG Photographic will sell you 10 for £4.68 per roll including postage. Sharif is a little cheaper at £4.49 per roll including p&p PS Other sponsor retailers are available and I am not saying AG is the cheapest amongst those retailers Mike |

Yes click and collect tends to be a win-win situation. The seller arranges a delivery either of other items he has sold or possibly combined with other sellers items to a collection point. Cheaper and easier for the seller and maybe easier for the buyer as he can choose any time within a slot ( maybe 2 days ) to collect. This avoids having to stay in for the courier or stipulating a "safe" place to leave the parcel.
Mind you, not so great if you live 10 miles or more from the collect point and you have no other reason to go there. Mike |

With click and collect you'll get an email to say your item is awaiting collection, with a time limit.
Just your bad luck if you find a bargain roll of in-date Multigrade FB paper you can cut to size for panoramic printing, and your better half deletes the email as 'junk', so when you enquire where your paper is it's been returned to sender. Apparently that could happen. So I'm told . . . |
