C41 is a pussycat compared to E6. Less steps, more tolerant of temperature/exposure variations (within limits) and a shed load cheaper.

Plus the raw undiluted chemicals undoubtedly last longer once the bottles are opened. I opened a Tetenal kit 3 months ago and mixed 1.5 litres out of a 2.5 kit. I have just finished the last that mix and the stock chemicals kept in the original bottles are still in good condition.

I’ve just received the Tetenal E6 kit. Hope to try it soon.

Hi Alex did you use your Tetenal kit. I understand that there are two type in that one is a shorter version of the full process. Which did you get?

Hi Mitch.
I haven’t used it yet, but I have films to do. I will try to develop them next week.

I can’t remember, and I’m away at the moment. I’m sure it’s Tetenal, maybe Colortec?
I will check when home on Monday 7/10.

Default E6

I have a Fuji hunt E6 processing kit. It has been sitting on the shelf for some time even with the lock down I have not had the time to get to grips with it. I have decided to get on with it as my stock of used slide film is mounting up.

How do you use it as the instructions are not quit clear. Is it like mono film in that you make up a stock solution and use it throwing it away after each film use. or do you just mix what you need then throw it away.

Mitch, after a bit of searching I found this, as well as a lot of supplier sites that were much vaguer. I think you may get your answers from that pdf, though.

Good luck (I have used Paterson and Tetenal E6 chemistry but not yours).

I've just gone through a Fuji Hunt E6 kit with good results, and don't mind answering questions. - my e-mail address is on my website www.tomkershaw.com

I used the kit on a 2-shot basis in a Jobo. i.e. 1000ml solutions used for 4/5 films and then the same 1000ml solution used for another 4/5 films. The first developer will need more time in the 2nd run by around 30 seconds. I suspect 40 rolls per kit is very safe, and 50 rolls per kit is on the tight side.
