Best wishes to you both Ian.
At least you know she's in the best place and in the best hands. The last thing she needs now is the risk of catching infections, so though it's hard not getting to visit, it's in her best interest. Mike |

Wishing both of them all the best. It's at times like this you realise just how great the NHS is, even under almost intolerable pressure.

This is very sad news. I hope her condition improves soon. My thoughts are with you both.

All the best to your wife and you, Ian.
My grandma had the same, though likely not that severe and definitely not in difficult times like now. Also speech was completely lost and she had to start all over again. It takes time, but it is precious time, with a lot of encouragement and gratefulness for every little step of progress. My mother-in-law fell into coma in 2018. She was declared rather lost after two weeks and woke up after four. Every day is a new day, cherished. Well, makes her more cursing the pandemic, loudly! ;-) Frank |

It has taken the first page of posts to learn who Ian Grant is - Lostlabours - although he kindly collected me from the train for the FADU get-together in the Midlands and gave me a lift to Exeter from the Cornwall meetup in 2018.
I hope all goes well. The NHS really is good in these situations and good to hear that the ambulance was quick. The system may be broke but is kept afloat by the professionalism and dedication of the staff at the sharp end as I also discovered in the summer. All the best, Mike |
