Default rollei 400s

Changed my mind about the 80s and bought some Rollei retro 400s. I plan to use this on overcast days in the north of the UK. To get the most out of low contrast scenes can anyone give me their advice on how to expose and develop this film. I have read that this film is really a 200 asa film, is that true? I have also read that it is hard to develop without losing shadow detail, I am not too worried about that as long as the mid-tones are good and I don't get blown out highlights. I want to capture the full range of tones in overcast green hills and low grey clouds.

When I tried it I developed it in both Rodinal and Firstcall film developer,AKA Rollei RHS, I tried hard gut I could not beat the extreme contrast, in ten rolls, 5 35mm and 5 120 I did not get I negative that I could print, tried it at 200, 400, tried shorting the developer times, it simply did not work for me no matter what I did, even trid a roll in D76, which was the worst of all, so I will be interested to hear how you get on and if you can tame the contrast of this film, good luck with it
Richard
