Wink Dungeness

Ever since seeing a photo spread by Lee Frost in B&W I've been meaning to get down there for a session with my cameras. I know a lot of other members
also like the place, so can anyone recommend any where to stay Pub or B&B
in the area? Bit to far from Nottm for a day trip!

Brian, I'm sorry I don't know of any B&B in the immediate vicinity but there should be quite a few in places like Hythe which is a short trip away.

Dungeness is well worth a long weekend if travelling from any distance. Plus a visit to Camber Sands just up the road is worth a look.

I've only popped down there a couple of times on day-trips. Only one image I have ever printed: the church of St. Thomas Becket, isolated on Romney Marsh when the village it served disappeared over the years...

Slightly weird place, Romney Marsh. Good place to cycle though: flat!

plenty of film, B&W of course. hoping for plenty of day & night stuff.

Brian, if you have a mo sometime in the future please let us know how you got on. I used to live in Sussex back in the 60s and have often thought of having a bash at Dungeness / Romily Marsh myself sometime, so any info would be handy.

Have a great weekend :-)

Neil.

Besides those wonderful boats and huts, the place is peppered with telegraph poles and powerlines, flotsam and jetsam

Enjoy

The contact print below was taken there last year as part of my 'Roads' series.
