http://www.jobo.com/web/Expert-Drums.338.0.html

expensive setup as the drums cost a lot and you need a processor to use it but probably worth investing in if you are serious about 8x10 rather than dabbling..

or dip and dunk tank with film hangers. Should be cheap to source s/h

or develop in trays. The cheapest as you you can use 8x10 print trays.

dip and dunk or trays have to be done in the dark.

or send to lab which is setup for 8x10

Hello Raul,

I assume you are talking about hand processing tanks and not rotary tanks (Jobo etc)? There are tanks available for processing 8x10 sheet film. However they do require a lot of chemical. Have you thought of using a tray? There are items which help with tray development if you don't want to shuffle films in the dark. e.g. a 'Slosher' panel which can be purchased or made at home. The latter is for 5x4 but could be modified for 10x8.

Raul, I have a Jobo Expert drum which takes 5 sheets of 8x10 film but as yet I've not used it as I much prefer to use a converted Paterson Orbital Processor (details are in the article section by Dave Miller). I know it only does one sheet of 8x10 at a time but I'm in no hurrry

Sriously consider a Paterson Orbital. There's a piece about it on my site.

BTZS tubes. They're expensive, so plastic pipes rolled around in a bath of water does the job. There's a you tube vid showing how its done...

A Nova 8x10" print processor will do the job as well, & is temperature controlled, but by the nature of the design will only do one sheet at a time - depends on your throughput.

Hello all, and Roger...

I followed your sound advice and finaly managed to get a Paterson Orbital for a good price on ebay...

Did a try last night, developing my first 8x10 negative on it, and its a joy to use... only one sheet at a time, true, but for such a small quantity of developer... Rodinal 1+50, 6.5 minutes... 75ml water, 3ml developer...

And the all process is such a fun thing...
Fabulous piece of ingenious design...
I can only recomend it!

And also good to develop 4x5 sheets, four at a time, with chemical economy... So far I was using de Combiplan dev tank, with a waste of developer, and a pain to place the sheets in...

Thanks, Roger, and all that were on help here!
