New??? Well I bought it new and haven't even touched the box since so that's a reasonably accurate statement, isn't it

After all if I had bought a car new 20 years ago and it was transported from the showroom to my garage where it has sat untouched ever since then really it is in the same state as it was in the showroom so it's new as in never used

So what's the problem with using "new"

Mike
Not quite, in the case of the car. . Once the ownership is transferred by exchanging it for money to someone else it becomes 2nd hand. That could be described as used but no miles recorded but the accepted description is 2nd hand whatever the use or no use as the case may be

I think in your case with the paper it should have been described as 'out of date' or 'stale'. It certainly cannot be described as new.

Indeed John and some may add that description to my attempted humour

They are completely different and worked with the original Multigrade paper.

All of these gel filters fade in any case - so they may not be the same colour as they were supposed to be.

Even if they were pristine, the original Multigrade paper was very indifferent stuff and not a patch on what we are now being supplied with.
