Default darkroom tents

Hello
Can anyone suggest a make of lightproof tent which could be converted into a home darkroom.
Its a lot of hassle to convert my bathroom every time I want to make some prints so having a permanent structure would be much easier.
Thanks for any advice

I remember some time ago, that an American made 'Ice fishing' tent being mentioned by members either on here or Photrio. It was said that they used it as it was light tight and MUCH cheaper than the Nova one. they are sold on ebay and were a red colour on the outside at least.

That's all I can remember I'm afraid.

P.S. The following is what I believe was what was being talked about:

It would be worth checking with the seller / manufacturer, to check it's light-fastness before purchase though, if intended to be used in a sunlight lit room with no blackening out of the light.

Another option is the tents made for indoor growing of plants... But they do tend to have silvered interior material which might be a problem.

If you can wait a bit, as mentioned, Ilford are supposed to be selling some soon so it may be worth waiting to see what they come up with, but I do not imagine they will be cheap - certainly not as cheap as the ebay indoor growing tents (tho' with the Ilford tents, you are less likely to find yourself on a police list somewhere ).

I told them the smell was from my sepia/selenium toning and so far so good

Where is it to be situated ?
In the corner of a living or bedroom. Possibly in the garage ?

If in a garage, a few of the camping equipment firms make largish dark tents.

I assume they are made to keep out the light in very sunny
climates.

Coleman camping gear make dark tents, but not sure if they are light tight.

Cheers.

Re: Grow tents, the author of this article is either in the process of or has completed turning a container into a darkroom but, prior to that, he used a grow tent. His write up and images show how compact that can be so may be of some help to get you headed in the right direction:

I managed to buy one of the Nova darkroom tents second-hand. It does the job, but it's quite cramped with a 4x5 enlarger and a Nova 12*16 processor. It's also not particularly sturdy and I often have to refix the metal poles (which form an external skeleton) into their joints. I leave it set up permanently in the garage but only switch the fan on before each processing session. As well as obviously providing ventilation, the tent billows out when the fan is on to provide a little more space.

I've just read another set of posts about buying one of the 'growing tents' for use as a darkroom.

The poster is in the US, but bought off Amazon, so you might want to make contact to ask about the brand and search words used...?

P.S. Just found out by just typing 'grow tents' into the search bar at Amazon UK and you'll get loads...
