I also don't use a squeegee. after rinse I soak for 2min in Mirasol in the same rinse tap water turn the reel sideways while in the Mirasol put a clip on pull the film off the reel and hang up to dry. I get no marks on the film this way. Out water here is low medium.

After ruining an important 35mm film with a squeegee I always use my fingers now.

I have a couple of squeegees but after seeing somebody else ruin a film they have stayed in the drawer for the last 10 years or more. I'm another using the 2 finger method.

Fingers are just as capable of picking up dust and grit and sliding it down the emulsion as fingers are.

I'll stick to my kitchen towel method, fresh folded pad each time, but only on 35mm as whatever I do with Mirosol I get drying marks, never happens on 120, and our water is soft, doesn't even fur up the kettle,

I soak the film in wetting agent + water and then hang it up in my shower. I wipe both sides down gently with a folded cotton hankie that I always throw into my weekly wash.

I meant fingers could pick up grit just as well as a squeegee. Steve. |

I've always been more "You do it whatever way you like, doesn't affect me or my work". Do whatever works best for you.

I think that's a selfish attitude, the purpose of a forum such as this one is to share information in order to help others. If we all adopted your line of thought then that wouldn't happen.
