Ray Moore certainly for me too Lostlabours, but he died in 1987 so I didn't think we could count him as contemporary.

He's a contemprary for me as I was practising at the same time as I switched from commercial work to more personal work

Ok, in that case, Ray Moore was my ultimate.

Now I have to add HCB, Fay Godwin and Gary Winogrand... Who reminds me that Lee Friedlander has to be up there as well.

There are so many from the last 40 or 50 years but a lot, if they are still alive, have moved to colour. Paul Hill was important to me, like for many, he was my teacher, but he's using colour now.

I love the work of James Ravilious. His photographs and working practice have been a big influence on me.
