Sounds good to me Dave as long as there is enough FADUers at the opening. Can you vote for yourself as the political candidates do?

I don't see why not - but I think we are all grown up enough to vote for the best prints

I would suggest the selection is done by FADU members on the opening day but no voting for yourself. There should be a fair crossection of photographic tastes to end up with a representative panel of FADU members work.

I must admit voting for one's self sounds rather odd - I don't think I have come across that one before !

Instead of selecting 40 prints for the exhibition, select 46 . Each print will then be given a number and the first 6 numbers drawn from a hat will be sent to Silverprint's. So we will have 2 exhibitions on at the same time and possibly more members included.

Was it something I said ? This tread seems to stopped dead in it's tracks.

I am sure it wasn't anything you said and it's certainly another different idea, Vincent. I suppose that the luck of the draw selection might give Silverprint a narrower range of prints whereas a vote or a one-man selection might avoid this but there's no telling either way.

I remain relaxed that we'll end up with a good selection whichever way we do it.

Of course it was Vincent.

I was simply waiting for further comment and suggestions.

For those of you planning to rush into Silverprint on Friday to see our “Silverprint Six” the news has been received that management has decided that an element of redecoration to their exhibition area is required in order to show off the work to best effect.

This necessitates a slight delay to the hanging of our photographs; more news here as it becomes available.

All 6 are up now, and looking very good too, frames are thanks to Process Supplies who lent us some of their hire stock.

We moved the notice boards that are usually in the hall, and have put them in there, so it's a light well lit area. As this IS downtown Waterloo they've been mounted with mirror plates so one would have to be reasonably determined to make off with one.

I've left my d*gital cameras at home, will put up a location shot tomorrow.
