Not sure if the image quality of the photo i posted below is going to be good enough to illustrate, but i finally managed to get the enlarger set up with the correct parts and it seems to be working as it should. Ran a series of test prints 14, 12, 10, 8, and 6 seconds , varying the contrast from none through 00, 0, 01, 02, 03, 04,and 05 on each successive test strip. The coverage of magenta or yellow is uniform and the exposure times are more as i would have expected them to be. So yes Mike in answer to your query , i think some element of exposure recalculation is required although only at the more extreme ends of the contrast ranges , which i would hope that i am competent enough not to need to do to often !

Nice one.

Perhaps, one day, you might be encouraged to take part in the print exchange rounds.

Each month, darkroom prints are exchanged between Fadu members. Participation is voluntary and it's purely 'recreational'.

Thanks for the response, JevCar. Yes it looks as if Durst did a pretty good job of trying to keep the exposure the same for most of the grade range which is good for most prints that with a properly exposed negative lie in the range of grades 2- 3 or 3.5

Mike
