Welcome!

My father's family are from Scotland!

I have a watch and photo of my great grandfather achieving second place in a 250 mile bicycle run on 14 6 1884. As it has a cover on the back, opening it up it's inscribed on the back inside of the watch. The B&W picture shows him on the bicycle, solid rubber tires and the wheel up front, very large! His butt must of been sore after that! And the poor gent looks a little like me!

Hi and welcome James. That Canon you have is a very highly rated piece of kit, rivalling the classic Nikon stable.

thanks for all the welcomes

it's a really great camera body, Mike, and was perfect for me as it's so similar to the 5D body and when I bought the 1N I had three and a half years of shooting with the 5D under my belt. The 1N wasn't my original choice, I bought an EOS 3 on ebay but the seller pulled a fast one, it never arrived and the seller wouldn't reply to any correspondence. Ebay/paypal gave me a full refund and I bought the 1N on there instead and think it was the right choice, it's built like a tank and has less to go wrong with it than the 3 does. In the ten months since I bought it I'd guess at somewhere just over 100 films have been put through it

thanks Leo. The X-300 is in a bag with the metering broken. For the cost of repair I could buy two replacement bodies which is where the X-700 came in. Lent this to a photographer relative about a year ago with a selection of great lenses, mostly Rokkor, and a selection of films. He's never used it and sneers at film. The SRT 101 appears to be a casualty of a breakup last year, she kept all my stuff which was at hers, the SRT 101 wearing a Rokkor 58mm 1.7, guitars, dozens of books and dvds etc, my spoils of war are four cds she left here Will reclaim the X-700 at some point and take it out for a spin
