Default Hello from N.Wales

I should introduce myself as I've been posting for a week or two.
I live and work up in North Wales ( Denbigh ) .
I'm a lens designer - at Qioptiq UK ( which used to be Pilkington PE Ltd in the old days ) . I also worked for a while at Carl Zeiss in Oberkochen doing photo lenses in the 1990's .

I've been taking photos in one way or another since the early 80's , but my interest in art and monochrome started around 1988 when someone gave me a 6x6 rollfilm folding camera .

Since 1995, most of my 'serious' work has been done on a Horseman VH 6x9 technical camera . I also have a Gandolfi 5x7" , which I dabble with occasionally . I have a Leica-R system for slides which I use as my holiday and 'diary' recording .

I started doing straight landscape, but in the last 10 years I've become more interested in small-scale scenes and more abstract compositions of nature, seashore and industrial subjects.
My heroes are Edward and Brett Weston, Minor White, Wynn Bullock, Eliot Porter and Shinzo Maeda .

Welcome to FADU, Mark!
Now I know who made all my Hassi and Rollei lenses ;-)

Welcome Mark. Quite a lens pedigree there. A lens expert is good to have.

Oh, I can't take credit for much of the Hasselblad range - a lot of it was designed from late 50's to mid-80's actually . Erhart Glatzel will have been involved quite a lot, I expect .

My only contribution that made it to the shelves during my 18 months there was the TSA 300/2.8 and x1.7 Apo-teleconverter. A nice one to have done ! ( but unaffordable for me, unfortunately ) .
