Hi Alan and hello from another new 'un.
I must say that I actually think what you are doing with your farm pictures is very important. I 'sort of' grew up next to a farm (during the school holidays) when we came up to a cottage we were renovating in the Borders of Scotland in the mid-60's, and looking back at some of the pics my Dad made with the 127 Brownie, it is amazing how much things have changed and how much has been lost - keep it up - great stuff! Phil,
I agree entirely. Some of the farmers on the moors carry on in the old way, but things are changing. Some have a second job . Farms are being converted to holiday homes. I feel that I'm doing the project at just the right time. It can be a lot of work at times, but very satisfying, especially as you know your photographs will be looked after for the future. Alan |

Mitch,
It is a great part of the country, but from the point of view of straight landscape photography I find the moors themselves quite hard to photograph, unlike the North Yorkshire coast where pictures abound everywhere. But focussing on the people with landscape as a backdrop has been a good way in for me. Alan |

Alan - moors are great - you should try some of the upland plateaus we have up here!

Phil,
So how do you avoid taking "bog standard" pictures? Alan |

Oh very drole
Without a word of a lie I once sank up to my right thigh in bog, with 4 or 5 miles back to the car park . . . that was where boggiest came from! |
