Default Hi from Italy

Hello to all FADU's forum friends. I have been informed about this very interesting community from the pages of Black and Wihte Photography magazine. I am an amateur photographer and one year ago I have started to use my late father ''film cameras'' and discovered how much traditional film photography is able to give emotions and endless source of inspiration to express creativity. Now I am shooting almost completely with my film cameras and have also started to collect classic cameras (mostly foldings) that I am also learning to use.The cameras I am using more are Leicas (IIIC, M3 and M6), the Hasseelblad 500CM and the fantastic Rolleiflex 3,5 Planar.
I dont have yet a darkroom so my photos are printed by a professional lab but I know very well that the photographic project is complete and more challenging when you work in the darkroom and can express your creativity also by rinting yr photos and working with yr negatives. In October I will start a Dark Room course and hopefully I will then be able to print my photos, very excited for this! In UK I have found different suppliers and good sources specialised in dark room equipments and film photography and found also interesting sites that prove how traditional photography is loved and practiced in Yr Country. Film is NOT DEAD!!!! This is just to introduce myself (please forgive me if I have wrote such a long...presentation) and I am happy to be here and sure I will learn a lot from all of you.
All the very best,
Paola

Hi and welcome to FADU Paola. That's quite a range of cameras you have. You are already a dedicated film user and once you have been on your darkroom course you will find that getting a darkroom of your own will be a top priority. I had to have a darkroom once I had been on my course.

There is no way back :

Mike

Hello and welcome to the site Paola .

Good luck with your darkroom course and don't forget that you do not need too much room - don't let the big darkrooms some of us have put you off as many of us started by using the family bathroom at night with a sheet of wood over the bath .

Enjoy your cameras.

Cheers, Bob.

LUXURY!!!!! My first was a bedroom cupboard. 5'x4'x4' I had to kneel in it. Great fun. Nostalgia is not what it used to be....
