Hi from London!
Hello!
My name's Ricardo Miranda. I was born 40+ years ago in the Azores, a group of islands in the Atlantic. I've been living now for over 13 years in London. I started photography by using a small 110 pocket camera when I was about 12. Soon started to have the use of my father's SLR: a Petri FT and all its accessories: a 28mm, a 85-210mm and a 400mm. I was shooting mainly aircraft in our local airport. Those were nice days for a teenager! I shoot these days a bit of urban landscapes and some Nature. I had a brief encounter with a D100 in 2005 at the expense of my 2 Nikons F4. I haven't used it since 2008 and was upset with the poor quality if my results. Besides, I was missing my F4s. This year, after getting back 2 Nikon F4 and battling against a feet illness (I am still recovering and can't walk much) I'm slowly returning to photography after an absence of 7 years in traditional photography, even as a medicine against many ailments! I found these days an industry and a hobby that has changed a lot: my favourite film Kodak EBX has gone. Prices are still quite good from what I remembered from 9, 10 years ago. So, I'm looking forward to test some "new" slide films and C-41 films. |

Welcome to FADU Ricardo. I take it that you didn't come to the U.K. for the weather
It seems that the Nikon F4 is a camera that enough enthusiasts prefer to the F100 or F5 which must make it a great camera I hope your ability to walk improves. Some say that our feet are still the best form of zoom lenses I hope you like what you see when you try Agfa Vista mike |

Thank you all for the welcome!
Mike The weather here isn't very different from where I come from: I always lived in islands and rain is guaranteed! The F4 is still a very nice camera and I also have the F90X and the F801S. I couldn't believe how the prices for second hand cameras have fallen so much! I got a F90X with very little use for less than £40 last year. And it came with the grip! And thanks for the best wishes! I'll post my impressions of Vista when I try it! |
