Default Belated Hello from Lancs

Hi there

I joined the forum some time ago - because I was wondering about starting B&W - using cameras that were my dad's. Up til now I've shot a few rolls and scanned the results - with mixed success. Finally I have bought an enlarger (Durst M705) and plan to start printing some of my pictures.

I have found the discussions on the forum very interesting (although sometimes confusing) but I'm looking forward to putting the theory into practice and hope that you wont mind mentoring a novice and answering questions I'm sure you've heard a thousand times before

Neil

Hi Neil, welcome to the forum. The other members here never seem to mind when I post a simple question.

I was once told that "a question is only simple if you know the answer", so ask away

Hi Neil,

I'm sure that you will get good advice here....I know I did, when I first arrived. Don't be afraid to ask, most people on here are very accomodating for newcomers to B+W. And they really know their stuff.

Welcome Neil. Ask away. We thrive on Q & A and thoroughly enjoy it. I detect you have really made a committment to analogue and if I may make a suggestion, you might want to get good books on printing and film.

Tim Rudman's "The Photographer's Master Printing Course" and Les McLean's "Creative Black and White Photography" are two excellent books, combining instruction with a "good read".

I hope you enjoy it here.

Mike

Welcome Neil I don't think anyone here minds answering any questions, no matter how many times they are asked, we all remember the way we were when we started

Hi from another Lancastrian, though despite having a Lancashire address I'm a couple of miles into Tykeland.
Any advice I can give you're welcome.
