Hi Michael and welcome to fadu. I think that you will find that most people on this site are self taught. I think that it is only the fear of making a mistake that holds us back from having a go ourselves. The internet has so many examples of printing and developing that it is much easier nowadays to learn that it once was.

Thanks
Hi
Thanks to all for your warm welcome and especially Razzle for that excellent and useful summary of courses. I'll check them out. What is really so interesting with processing your own films and making your own prints is to be completely liberated in terms of the choice of materials. Fomapan and FD10 currently have my undivided attention. I think I'll try Foma's VC paper soon. Thanks again! Michael |

Resurrecting this thread, to ask the OP 'Michael / mkscottgbr' if he ever found a course that suited him and to ask what he thought of it? (I have just checked his profile and it seems that he hasn't posted at least, since 30th January 2014, but MAYBE he still pops by to read some of the posts?... Who knows?... )
But as was said, most of us are self taught, but despite on and off darkroom experience of about forty years for me, I still contemplate maybe doing a more advanced short course or even some 1 to 1 tuition to take me just a little bit further down the line. I have seen one or two printers, whose work I have liked, advertise else where. So has anyone done something similar to this? Terry S PS I'll see how the replies go, but I think I might post the last bit of my message above, in the forum as a new question. |
