Default alternative to dedicated lightbox

I use my wife's iPad, Word loaded, empty document, so the screen is mostly white. This works for viewing negatives but I also used it for copying 35mm transparencies. The column of a Meopta enlarger made and excellent copying stand (the screw is 3/8" Whit and I had to cut it off and put in a 1/4" Whit screw).

I'd still call it portable Mike, even if one has to use the very compact power pack.

Terry, I now wonder if I have completely misunderstood what the power pack does. I thought that the pad had to be connected at all times to the mains via a 3 pin plug that has a USB input or via the power pack that itself was connected to the mains but is it the case that the mars bar power pack is charged from the mains and then this in turn powers the pad for say X hours. In effect it is the mars bar that is the external battery, thus making the pad portable as long as the power pack is charged up and connected to the pad.

No access to mains being required as long as the pack is delivering the power?

Mike

I think you've got it spot on Mike. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks, Terry. I did originally wonder what he "mars bar " contraption added compared to the usual USB plug into a 3 pin plug and now I know. It is a power storage device

The e-bay advert says nothing. Presumably everyone is expected to have kept up with progress so they all just know - except me it would seem

Be careful when buying these sight unseen - they are intended for tracing and many have a pixelated screen caused by the plastic grid they use to deflect the LED light from the edge upwards that will cause issues when viewing negatives. A further layer of diffusion will be required in those cases.
