This morning's post brought two versions of an industrial landscape from Marty. Both are on Ilford Warmtone FB Glossy and one is toned in KRST. Marty calls this print Break of dawn, Barrage de la Platte Taille and the subject is the dam and a hydroelectric power station. The composition is very strong, with the quiet early morning light giving it a pure calmness. I like both versions in different ways and wonder which Marty will scan! This is a very effective treatment, which I find more interesting than most of the well known work.
Thank you, Marty |

I understood, the reason they needed to build a power station in the first place, was to keep that contraption running.

Came home from work today to find two prints waiting from Michael. The principal image is of Nendrum Monastic site, with a second image for discussion. Both prints are very well executed, with one printed on Art 300. The Nendrum image is on 35mm PanF. I use it in 120, and had forgotten just how fine and sharp it is even in small format.
Thank you Michael. ps Michael, I'll PM some thoughts on the second print as it was for discussion, but I'll say it is certainly worth posting the Gallery. |

Yesterday I received a very beautiful print form Colin (skellum). It is a still live my different kinds of historic salt or pepper shakers. I am fascinated by the reproduction of materials, and of the high sharpness all over the field. Usage of medium camera and of a fine grained film is always rewarding.
