Default Foma 331 or 332 RC Warm paper Appeal

Hi Folks
My all time favoured paper : Foma 331/332 warm tone RC paper has been discontinued. All stocks appear to have gone. But does any body out there have any unused / unopened packs. Apart from silver printing i have used it for years for Lith...........but I do not know of any warm RC papers left.

What about Ilford RC Warmtone? An excellent paper.

I take it that there is definite evidence that these two have been discontinued as in Foma has made an announcement to that effect?

If not then while no-one may have it that is somewhat different and is probably to be expected during this Covid crisis

Foma have a new paper - FOMA RETROBROM - that is claimed to bromoil and lith. I have some for testing (both for lith and bromoil) but alas this has not been done yet. I have seen some lith results though and OK - it liths but I didn't get excited - more like brown prints to my eye. Hopefully when I have a go I shall be able to improve on this.

Here's the link:

Retrobrom sounds interesting Neil, but it is fibre paper. Dave was talking about RC.

Thanks so far.....Warm tone Multigrade is indeed an excellent paper- but I have never tried it for Lith, perhaps I should. Three of the "Big" darkroom paper distributors told me a year ago that Foma331/332 was discontinued , but fortunately I had a good supply at the time.

Alan,

Yes I realised that but as there are no RC lith papers around these days, that are known to lith well, I thought it would be worth bringing it into the discussion.

A friend of mine, a very experienced lith printer, managed to get a lith print (of sorts) from Ilford WT RC but it took a lot of effort - many passes through very hot lith dev and bleaching backs. The result was so dissapointing he hasn't bothered again.

Unfortunately, the only currenty available lith paper appears to be the Foma Retrobrom.

For my own lith work I have a stash of Slavich and a few other old lith papers that lith well. I am hoping this new Retobrom does lith well because we need more people producing lith prints.

Maybe Foma will sometime bring out a RC version of Retrobrom - that would be welcome.

Neil.

Neil,
My mistake. I thought Dave was after a RC warmtone paper for general printing. I didn't realise he wanted it for lith printing.
I have been looking at the very nice lith prints on your website. I have never done lith printing and wish I had given it a go when the materials were readily available.
