Default Would you pay $400 for a box of 100,000 unprocessed negs by an unknown photographer?

RE: Vivien Maier

Probably not...

This link says

"John Maloof purchased a box of never-seen, never-developed film negatives of an unknown ‘amateur’ photographer for $380 at his local auction house."

Unless the journalist is mixing his never developed negatives with never printed negatives?

In any event, let us know what the book says which is probably a more reliable source.

He got everything: lots of undeveloped rolls of film and lots of developed, but never printed negatives and lots of prints.

I would and enjoy the chance of developing even if nothing came out but if things did come out they might be interesting, or not, and if not well that's life.

I should have added that maybe when I was younger, still learning about darkroom work and had more time to play with something like this.

I once bought some negs on ebay, really to get the nice aero ektar that came with them, but the images were very interesting. I've posted them on a forum before so I.''ll see if I can find a couple.
