Lens Hoods
I never had a problem with any of the correct hoods for Olympus Lenses. With or without a filter.
I always seemed to find that in some cases the lens hood for the next lens down the scale would also work. For instance the 50mm hood would also work with the 35mm lens and the one designed for the 85/F2 would also work with the 50mm. The 135 built in hood was pathetic and I used a screw hood of a Pentax 135/3.5. I never owned a 24mm so cannot comment. I did own a 35/105 with the large rubber hood that was held in place by a screw on the side that also worked on a 35/70 without a problem. |

The wide angle lens hoods I have for my wide angle OM lenses were metal - or at least the 21 and 28 mm ones were.
I think they made some later hoods in rubber. Wide angle lens hoods are pretty wide and rather shallow things - they have to be. Not great from shielding the lens from the sun - which is a problem with all wide angle lenses. However, they do stop the camera tipping on to the front filter/lens element. Martin |
