I do not know about your particular camera, but quite a few need the leather or leatherette to be peeled off so that the repairer can get at the countersunk screws concealed beneath the leather covering.
Two that spring to mind are my old Rolleicord Va and Yashica Electro. Both have concealed screws on the faceplates.
The adhesive needs to be strong enough for the job, yet capable of having the bond carefully broken down in the future to allow access to the metal plates below.
We are not talking about British Museum Standards Conservation techniques here, just the ability to gently peel off the fabric, keeping it in one sound piece, then after the job in hand roll it back into position with a good non-permanent adhesive.

The adhesive I used was Copydex. I think it is a rubber based glue.
Available at DIY shops in the UK.

Sounds like a corny advert but no connections to the firm.

Cheers.

I believe that the Microcord and rolleiflex are the same, you would need to remove the leather covering to get to screws hidden away underneath it, to get to the winding and frame counters systems.

It was just a small corner on both cameras, if the leather needs to come off it will.

A camera repairman showed me a trick on old leather - he used EvoStick, diluted with EvoStick cleaner, which slows down the operation - and held the surfaces in contact with a plastic bag of water with some books balanced on top. He then finished the job next day with black Cherry Blossom shoe polish and a brush!

I’ll add my 2 cents. Had to reattach some leather on the face of my Leica. I used Pliobond, a contact adhesive. Wrap a rubber band around the leather and let sit for 5 days. It doesn’t really dry so it is removable. Of course I don’t know about it’s availability in England.

I would use the spray contact adhesive I use to trim out the backs of vans with carpet. You spray both surfaces and wait till tacky this is the good bit if you get it wrong it can be peeled apart and re fixed without any damage or extra adhesive.

Default Carpet adhesive spray.

I had a carpet fitted to the stairs and the fitter did a lovely job.
He used spray adhesive in awkward spots. After about six months the spray overspill on the paintwork turned a rather unsightly brown. It actually stained the white stair paint.
I have heard of people using spray adhesives to mount photographs, so take good care as to where you use the stuff.

Cheers.
