Your link doesn't work this is the correct one.. Thanks for making the video, 9x12 cameras are quite interesting, I have a few.

Pete, the camera may be a decade older as the Dial set Compur was replaced by the Rim set Compur from 1928 but manufacturers had stock to use up so it's not a definitive cut off date. You can check the serial numbers of the lens and Compur itself here. The heyday of these cameras was post WWI and mainly the 1920's, you see very few with the newer Compur.

I assume you had the lens coated locally in Balham, unfortunately they disappeared 2 or 3 years ago and customers never got their lenses back.

Enjoyed the video, what a lovely camera! got me looking at plate cameras and I found this http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/index.htm click on box marked "early" . Interesting website for all aspects of photography.

Ian : Thanks for viewing and the info -- yes, I had the lens coated at that firm in Balham ( Gateway to the South -- ) but did get it back !
