Default Eastman kodak 4B

Hi everyone, I have found this camera in an antiques shop in reasonable condition and was wandering if it is worth investing in and if it is usable today? What would be a fair price to pay for such a camera? Any opinion is highly appreciated, thanks.

It is not a camera I know, but I think it is a very early model, and unless you can use 120 film, or 127, it could well be more of a collectors camera than a usable camera, I would say be very careful if you want a usable camera, if you are interested in usable classic cameras then it is better to go to a dealer,I have large collection of working cameras, all of which I use, mostly bought fromhttp://collectablecameras.com,I prefer to use these old cameras as I like the results I get, and my collection goes from 1938 to 1961,
Richard

Is it a folding camera? and is it actually 4B or in fact B-4? This was a version of a very long line of folding cameras and used, I think, 122 film. Let us have a photo and/or more details.

If is a Kodak B4 then in it's day it was a good camera in it's day, it was made between 1903 and 1915, and used 122 film to take negatives 31/4 and 5 1/5, postcard size. today it would not be usable as you could not get the film, The b4 was introudced in1909 and had a Bausch and Lomb rapid rectiliner lens and a kodak ball bearing shutter. It is very much a collectors camera,
Richard

Although you could modify it to take 120 film.

Steve.
