Received today - a lovely contact print from a neg taken with searcher's new 5x4 chamonix!!
I've shied away from making contact prints, and really have only done a few salt prints as contacts and a few from 17*6 negs. But this is lovely and might make me revisit the possibilities there. Fran |

I have received from FADU member JohnnyAtari, something that I have never received before during a Print Exchange on FADU - a darkroom colour print! And a very nice one it is too!
Full technical details were sent with the print, with the picture being of a finely crafted metal sundial. Johnny says that he is a quite new to darkroom colour printing but I think his effort is spot on, with no colour cast to be seen. The depth of field of the sundial is rather small but all the relevant bits are in focus. A great addition to my collection of Print Exchange prints. Many thanks. Terry S |

And received this morning. A nice environmental portrait of two men working on some machinery (Traction engine). Taken at a ploughing match at southwell, Nottinghamshire.
Good use of depth of field and well printed. Many thanks Steve |

It's an interesting composition of a Gatso (speed camera) observing some walkers down the prom at Southend. Has an Orwellian-esqe feel to it, big brother is watching you! |

And the second envelope arrived safely his morning!
An intriguing abstract of a lion's tail and rump (as in Trafalgar Square not the Serengetti). It looks like a difficult one to print well but Mike's got a lovely range of tones and the Multigrade IVRC print sparkles. A fabulous print for my collection and to answer your question Mike I agree with your analysis of the difference between he two versions you provided and for me the second would be my preferred if I could only keep one but that's my a lion's whisker! Thank you for sending it again, from my perspective it was worth the wait. |
