Richard, I am familiar with the MCC110, but not the Ilford classic, how different is it from the regular multigrade, does it tone well?

today I am mostly using ,I would be mostly using kentmere bromide grade 2 ,but I only have 80 sheets of 12x16 left and the buggers have stopped making it ,so I have replaced it with Ilford ilfobrom grade 2 ,but its not as good as the kentmere .I also use Ilford MGFB classic its ok but a bit slow in the developer . the RC VC papers I use is kentmere select and Ilford RC MG de luxe papers. I will use mostly fiber based papers most of the time and RC paper the rest of the time ..

The silford classic is faster than MG4, and as far as toning, it was designed to be very good indeed in Sepia, and it is, a lot better than Adox

I use FOMA Fomabrom Variant 111 - Natural Gloss Fibre-based paper size 30x40.

It is a very good paper with fine tonality and, at least here in Germany, is considerably cheaper than other papers:

Foma Variant | 30 x 40 | 50 sheets = 85€

ADOX MCC 110 | 30 x 40 | 50 sheets (2 boxes of 25) = 138€

Bergger | 30 x 40 | 50 sheets (2 boxes of 25) = 132€

ILFORD Multigrade FB Classic | 30 x 40 | 50 sheets = 151€

ILFORD Multigrade FB Warmtone | 30 x 40 | 50 sheets = 225€

Bests,

David.

There is no bad paper, so choose base on availability and your budget.

I'm curently back to ADOX MCC, but Foma is also nice, especially when shopping for 24'x20'

I mostly use Ilford MGFB Classic glossy which I love. It gives lovely neutral-warm tones in my standard ID78 print developer (home brew). If I want something warmer I use Ilford MGWT which I prefer in the matt finish.
I've also got a couple of boxes of Kentmere Bromide G2 and I'm going to try a couple of amidol formulas with it to try to get the really cold tones this paper is capable of.

There's also some Kentmere Kentona left for lith printing.

Oh for more time!
