Default Last Folk Standing?

Hi everyone - just back from a couple of days in Edinburgh . . .amongst thousands of people, I didn't see a single film camera, and I was looking. Last time I was there, I saw an American with a Holga and a Japanese girl with a Leica IIIf. I don't deliberately set out to camera spot, it's just one of those things
Anyone else spotted any film cameras in tourist locations recently, or are they really getting thin on the ground these days?
Oh, and I was carrying a Pentax MX, and chuckling to myself about how ridiculously huge most didg SLRs are

Rare, decidedly rare.

During my seven days in Bologna last month I did see one guy with Pentax M something, but this one below was an encounter of note ...

And I was thinking, "Where's he getting the film?"

By his expression he obviously knows where to get this Polaroid film, a secret unto himself. His girlfriend is also in on the secret and the composition is made by the two people on the far left.

I've seen Dianas and Holgas on King's parade in Cambridge recently, but haven't clocked anything more classic.

There was a link over on filmwasters recently to a site dedicated to spotting and taking pictures of film camera users in Tokyo. Very trendy there, apparently!

Saw one lady with a Holga, and a different lady with a pair of Nikon's in Paris last month.

Last time I was shooting in Boston (USA) I ran into a few people with film cameras. Most seemed to be students, which isn't too surprising with all the schools in town. The reason most gave for using film is they weren't getting what they wanted from digital!

I check the tourists looking at our waterfall from time to time and I can't recall the last time I saw a film camera. It's not surprising really, for holiday snaps digital has a lot going for it. One of my trade mags has had year-on-year film sales down a consistent 30% for ages.
