Probably any camera that has a five-point hotshoe sync and the appropriate flashgun. Certainly my MZ-5n from 1999 can do, and no doubt much earlier systems as well.

All of my fire performance shots are taken using what Pentax call trailing shutter curtain ...



The flames don't provide much illumination on the performer but /10 sec is adequate to capture their trail. The performer is illuminated by the flash burst at the end of the exposure.
