Arca Swiss monorail
I am considering the purchase of a monorail camera for architectural work. I have suitable spirals and drying facilities for 120 film and a de Vere 203 for negatives up to 6x9cm. The obvious camera choice is an Arca 6x9 with a sliding rollfilm back, which I briefly used (borrowed) in the sixties. It is lighter and more compact than a Sinar. Does anyone have any up-to-date experience of these? And where I might get a 65mm Angulon?

Ffordes had a big stock of Large Format lenses, currently much reduced. Only 65mm they have just now is a Nikon. |

It might be easier and cheaper to find a 5x4 monorail camera with Graflok back that will allow you to use 6x6, 6x7, 6x9, 6x12 roll-film and of course 5x4 sheet film. A bit more flexible than sticking to a dedicated 6x9.
I see Ffordes have a Horseman 6x9 too, so it might be worth considering if the movements are sufficient for your needs. Mike Last edited by mpirie; 28th December 2020 at 12:59 PM. |
