Default Hi from Liverpool

Hi, I have recently joined the forum and it is time for me to make my introduction. I have had a DSLR for a couple of years (Canon 5DII) but decided I needed to have more discipline in my picture taking so I bought a Mamiya RZ67 pro ii and a few lenses and now I have developed 3 whole films of HP5+ (my very first film did not survive being transferred from onto the reel for processing).

Unfortunately my Epson scanner isn't up to much and it took me 2 further films to work out that my Sekonic light meter is reading low. So, then I bought a Pentax spot meter and I have started learning anbout the zone system.

I was going to get a better scanner but they are several hundred quid, so instead, as of yesterday I am the proud owner of a non-functioning LPL C 7700 from fleabay (it wasn't described as faulty but it was only 40 quid). It has a bust fuse unit on the transformer (though the fuse itself is fine), so I am going to source a replacement and see if I can get it going. In fact it was my search for info on the LPL C 7700 that led me here.

I am planning to try and produce some 8x10 prints of the 2 or 3 efforts I am happiest with so far. I will let you know of my progress. Ilford multigrade (satin) Ilford paper developer and 10x12 trays are on the way. I am hoping to support UK industry as well as improve my photography skills.

The best thing is that so far I have still spent far less than the cost of a new canon 70-200 II f2.8, though my missus is less happy with the volume of equipment...

Welcome Jon and good choice. I'd have a busted lpl over a scanner any day!

Welcome Jon. A RB67, Pentax spot meter plus enlarger with processing bits on their way. Sounds as if you are off to a great start.
