I must admit I don't understand these anti-Harman feelings.

Harman are a business and not a charity, so have a duty to make a profit for their shareholders/owners/investors.

The price of their products has gone up – so has the cost of energy and silver - can hardly expect anything else ?

If you dislike the price difference of Ilford products between the UK and USA - fine – vote with your wallets, either buy it from the USA or change suppliers.

It’s a free market and the internet allows us to buy products almost any where in the world with ease.

Ilford don’t owe us anything.

We are starting to sound like APUG USA users with respect to Kodak, whining if they discontinue products and whining if they put the price up

Ilford make great products, which I for one will not abandon readily.

I will be looking around for competitively priced materials but I never took up Photography because it was an inexpensive hobby

I wonder how many votes there would be for continuing to use Ilford, had that been an option in the poll.

I guess they fall under the "other" heading.

Richard, there is no Ilford in the poll since I'm asking those ready to switch
The last option in the poll or "Other" is for brands like Slavich, Fuji,...

So Miha, what are you going to do with your poll results?

Please note I haven't and don't intend to vote.

I'm going to run them trough MATLAB to see if it there is a statistical significance. Later I intend to sell the results to either Foma Bohemia or Fotokemika (or whoever gives me the best offer).

It's voluntarily as it is participating in this forum.

Thank you for reminding me of that Miha, goodbye my friends, I'm off out with camera.

+1 Martin.

I find some of it perplexing.

I'll continue to buy their products because the quality is excellent, I like them and i'll have the benefit of knowing that i'll have given money to a company that produces their film in the UK - thus protecting UK jobs.

If you don't like the product, price or the company policy, just don't buy it. Some of the ill-feeling vented on here is in my opinion quite disproportionate.

After Harman?

The question has no impact on me because I wont get into nickel and dime philosophies that damage my enjoyment or choice.

But if I had another outlook or when prices go high enough to make me be aware of each squeeze of the trigger or harmon quality disappears or some other sad fact of life happens - I'm going right back to digital in the form of a Pentax Medium format camera.

Actually that may not be true. Wet plate for me ... in all likelihood.

In fact in another year or so I will likely transition to it irrespective.
I have a feeling that that is where my true heart lies and so perhaps I'm lucky - until they raise the price of ether!
