Default safelight plug on 500H head?

Does anyone know what the style of safelight plug on the Ilford 500 is called and where they can be bought? It seems to be some sort of strange and perhaps proprietary outlet. I can't find any information on it anywhere on the net.

If I can't find one, is it possible to replace the plug? I am thinking of breaking open the box, electrocuting myself and with my last breath perhaps rewiring the dang thing to a more normal outlet. Any ideas on this?

The existing plug is obsolete and very very hard to find. I replaced mine with a standard NA socket in about 15 minutes. You'll need a soldering iron and a screwdriver or a friend with them!

I have both, so I will get to it. Thanks! Any parts in there that can curl your hair even when unplugged - like on old TV's?

Nothing as bad as that. The circuit boards are on the end cover you have to remove and the wiring is a little stiff. The part I used was a Mode 31-043-0 chassis recptical Www.mode-elec.com or you local electronics supplier. The locking ears will be a tight fit and it will move bit unless you add some glue or something. I was going to post a picture but don't seem to be able to. Just mount it sideways and you should be good without any metal work.

I have found three of these plugs, possibly the last in the world! PM if interested.
